The Sweet Rise Story
Sweet Rise Bakery was born from a simple dream: to bring authentic, artisan-baked goods to the heart of San Francisco. Our founder, Maria Chen, grew up watching her grandmother bake traditional pastries in a small village bakery. Those memories of warm ovens, the smell of fresh bread, and the joy of sharing homemade treats inspired her to create Sweet Rise.
In 2015, we opened our doors on Baker Street with a commitment to traditional baking methods and the highest quality ingredients. We start each day at 4am, preparing our naturally leavened sourdough, laminating butter into croissant dough, and hand-shaping each pastry with care.
Everything we make follows time-honored techniques. Our sourdough starter has been lovingly maintained for over eight years. Our croissants undergo a three-day process of mixing, folding, and resting. We never take shortcuts because we believe the best things in life are worth waiting for.
Today, Sweet Rise has become a beloved neighborhood bakery, serving families, coffee lovers, and pastry enthusiasts from across the Bay Area. But despite our growth, we've never lost sight of our core values: quality, craftsmanship, and community.
